The Janzcyk & Karnicki Project records a mental journey of minutes that has lasted fifty years.
The story of the Janczyk & Karnicki Business Partnership of Danzig Poland begins with the adoption of an orphaned boy, Pawel Janczyk, by a prominent local family of hoteliers and shipowners. The Karnicki family already had a son, Edouard, and a daughter, Wanda, who was to die young.
The three children spent their childhood in Danzig, on the shores of the Baltic Sea, and grew very close, in time founding a Merchant Shipping firm, Janczyk & Karnicki & Co, leading purveyors of Reconditioned Goods, Bicycle Parts, Irrawaddi River Salvage, Spent Hubcaps, Bulk Sediment and the like. The firm’s flagship remains the 2000-ton Odessa-built SS Rangoon which today runs a Poland-to-Burma General Transport and Passenger Cargo Service via the Suez Canal.
The SS Rangoon carries a crew of crack Reconditioners, including a squad of international Stokers and Lascars, an elusive reserve of stowaways and a French Pest Control Officer, Rip Yergenes. Chief Steward Modeste Servitorius is also a qualified explosives expert, while the Galley Master, Chef Gaston du Noche, doubles as a deep-sea diver. The Rangoon’s Master is Captain Pawel Janczyk (Diplôme Cum Laude Stettin Nautical Akademie) with Edouard Karnicki as Chief Purser and Manager. His sister Wanda, although deceased is credited as the vessel’s guardian angel.
Specialists in Cross Packaging, Brand Camouflage and Product Replication the firm is rumoured to have developed a secret formula for the prompt reconditioning of waste into bespoke merchandise.
